Job summary

BDO USA, LLP is seeking a Finance BI Manager to lead a team of BI developers and analysts, shaping the architecture, governance, and roadmap for finance analytics. You will partner with Finance leadership to translate priorities into actionable plans and ensure high quality, secure, and scalable BI solutions using Power BI, SQL, and Power Automate.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of experience in Data Analytics, BI or Application Development.
• 2+ years leading or managing a technical team.
• Experience with Finance data preferred.
• Strong communication and cross-functional collaboration.

Responsibilities

• Lead and develop a team of Finance BI Developers and Analysts.
• Escalation point for Power BI, SQL, data modeling, and Power Automate issues.
• Define and evolve Finance BI architecture, semantic model design standards, data governance practices, and development guidelines across the team.
• Translate strategic priorities into a prioritized team roadmap and resourcing plan.
• Review and approve Power BI reports, semantic models, DAX measures, data transformations, and documentation before deployment.
• Ensure reports have up-to-date training available for end-users.
• Oversee workspace management, permissions, deployment processes, and access controls, including Row Level Security.
• Manage relationships with data engineering, IT, and other technical partners to secure data and infrastructure.
• Drive adoption of AI-enabled development practices responsibly, balancing efficiency with privacy and security.
• Establish and monitor team standards for version control, testing, documentation, and peer review.
• Communicate status of major initiatives, risks, and resourcing to Finance BI leadership.
• Maintain accurate results and safeguard sensitive data for trusted business decisions.
• Build and maintain relationships with stakeholders to gather requirements and ensure solutions meet needs.
• Apply branding and design standards for consistent, professional deliverables.
• Maintain knowledge of BI capabilities and evaluate new tools for adoption.
• Support hiring, onboarding, and training for new team members.
• Other duties as assigned.
