Job summary

Kiewit is seeking an Finance Analyst Internship to support accounting and finance tasks on a project. You will help with cost control, payroll, accounts payable/receivable, and financial reporting for multiple projects nationwide.

A relocation option is available as projects span the United States. The role blends hands-on accounting with month-end close activities and requires comfort with data analysis, Excel, and teamwork in a dynamic construction environment.

Qualifications

• 0 - 2 years of financial/data analysis experience.
• Pursuing a Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Economics, Statistics, Business Management, and/or equivalent degree.
• Minimum GPA of 3.0 or above.
• Ability to relocate anywhere in the country for this internship.
• Working knowledge of Microsoft Excel, Word and Outlook.
• Experience with Pivot Tables, V-Look Ups, and other key Excel functions preferred.
• Effective communication, organization and interpersonal skills.
• Good attention to detail with the ability to recognize discrepancies.
• Positive attitude, eagerness to learn, and passion for continuous improvement.
• Must be able to access all parts of a construction site in various climates.

Responsibilities

• Recognizes the importance of being a team player by adapting to project needs.
• Fosters relationships with the Operations team and shows a willingness to learn.
• Understands payroll and HR workflow and masters the systems used to hire, transfer, terminate, and pay employees.
• Maintains purchasing workflow controls and understands accounts payable processes.
• Troubleshoots payment or vendor issues in accounts payable and intercompany billing.
• Ensures cost and cost adjustments are reviewed to meet standards and rules.
• Reviews costs, budgets and reports to ensure accurate management reporting.
• Identifies forecast and budget issues and ensures proper recognition of costs and revenue.
• Displays first-rate customer service and supports team members.
• Maintains organized work environment and communicates clearly and efficiently.
• Follows Corporate Compliance and supports EEO and labor law compliance at project level.
