Job summary

Simulation95 is seeking a Finance & Accounting Manager to oversee daily financial operations in a hybrid role based in Menlo Park, CA or Miami, FL.

You will manage bookkeeping, monthly close, budgeting, and reporting, providing leadership with cash flow insights and supporting pricing decisions and investor reporting.

The role blends detailed accounting work with strategic questions, requiring strong Excel skills and experience with QuickBooks, Xero, or NetSuite.

Qualifications

• Experience in accounting or finance, preferably at a technology company or startup.
• Strong knowledge of bookkeeping, accrual accounting, financial statements, budgeting, and forecasting.
• Advanced Excel or Google Sheets skills and experience building financial models.
• Experience with accounting software such as QuickBooks, Xero, or NetSuite.
• Careful attention to detail and the ability to manage deadlines independently.
• Ability to explain financial results to colleagues without a finance background.
• Willingness to handle routine accounting work alongside financial planning.

Responsibilities

• Manage bookkeeping, account reconciliations, accounts payable and receivable, and expense tracking.
• Prepare customer invoices, follow up on collections, and coordinate vendor and contractor payments.
• Manage the monthly close and prepare financial statements and management reports.
• Maintain operating budgets, cash flow forecasts, and financial models; explain variances and recommend corrective action.
• Monitor cash runway, working capital, and upcoming financial obligations.
• Support hiring plans, pricing decisions, project profitability analysis, and resource allocation.
• Track cloud infrastructure, software subscriptions, contractor spending, and other technology costs.
• Coordinate payroll and work with external accountants and tax advisers on filings and compliance.
• Establish financial controls, approval processes, and clear documentation.
• Support fundraising, investor reporting, and financial due diligence as needed.
