Job summary

gpac is seeking a Finance & Accounting Manager to oversee accounting, financial reporting, budgeting, and forecasting within a manufacturing environment in Missouri. The role partners with operations to improve costs, margins and internal controls, while leading a team of accounting professionals.

The ideal candidate has a Bachelor's in Accounting or Finance, 5+ years of progressive experience, strong U.S. GAAP knowledge, ERP experience, and excellent analytical and communication skills.

Qualifications

• Strong Microsoft Excel skills.
• Experience with ERP and accounting/financial reporting systems.
• Excellent communication and analytical skills.
• CPA designation is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Oversee day-to-day accounting operations including general ledger, accounts payable, accounts receivable, fixed assets, reconciliations, and financial reporting.
• Lead monthly, quarterly, and annual financial close processes.
• Prepare and analyze financial statements and management reporting.
• Develop annual budgets, forecasts, financial models, and long-range financial plans.
• Analyze financial performance, profitability, cash flow, KPIs, and budget-to-actual variances.
• Provide financial recommendations and insights to senior leadership.
• Ensure accounting and financial reporting practices comply with U.S. GAAP, regulatory requirements, and company policies.
• Oversee inventory valuation, cost accounting, standard costing, and manufacturing cost analysis.
• Partner with operations to understand manufacturing performance, costs, margins, and opportunities for improvement.
• Manage cash flow and banking relationships.
• Supervise, mentor, and develop accounting personnel.
• Identify opportunities to improve accounting processes, reporting, systems, and internal controls.
• Support ERP and financial system enhancements.
• Collaborate cross-functionally with operations and other areas of the business.
• Maintain confidentiality and exercise sound judgment when handling sensitive financial information.

Position Overview

The Finance & Accounting Manager will oversee the organization's accounting and financial management activities, including financial reporting, budgeting and forecasting, cash management, cost accounting, inventory, internal controls, and financial analysis. Candidates with backgrounds such as Plant Controller, Manufacturing Controller, Accounting Manager, Finance Manager, Assistant Controller, Cost Accounting Manager, or Senior Accounting Manager.
