Job Details

We are seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Accounting Manager to lead our accounting operations and support the financial health of our growing manufacturing organization. The Accounting Manager will play a critical role in ensuring accurate financial reporting, maintaining strong internal controls, supporting operational decision‑making, and driving continuous improvement across accounting processes.

Salary: $100,000 - $130,000 per year.

Key Responsibilities

• Financial Management & Reporting: Manage the monthly, quarterly, and annual financial close processes.
• Prepare and review financial statements in accordance with Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP).
• Ensure accuracy and integrity of the general ledger, including journal entries, account reconciliations, and supporting schedules.
• Analyze financial results and provide insights to leadership on trends, risks, and opportunities.
• Manufacturing Accounting: Oversee cost accounting functions, including inventory valuation, standard costing, variance analysis, and manufacturing overhead allocations.
• Monitor inventory transactions and collaborate with operations to ensure accurate inventory records.
• Support product costing, margin analysis, and operational performance reporting.
• Partner with manufacturing and supply chain teams to improve cost controls and operational efficiency.
• Compliance & Internal Controls: Maintain effective internal controls and accounting policies to safeguard company assets.
• Coordinate annual audits and serve as the primary contact for external auditors.
• Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local tax requirements and reporting obligations.
• Support regulatory and customer compliance requirements related to manufacturing operations.
• Team Leadership: Supervise, mentor, and develop accounting staff.
• Establish performance goals and provide ongoing coaching and professional development opportunities.
• Foster a culture of accountability, collaboration, and continuous improvement.
• Strategic Support: Assist with annual budgeting, forecasting, and long‑range financial planning.
• Support cash flow management and working capital optimization initiatives.
• Partner with cross‑functional leaders to evaluate business performance and support strategic growth initiatives.
• Identify and implement process improvements to increase efficiency, accuracy, and scalability.

Qualifications

• Required:
  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
  • 5+ years of progressive accounting experience, including leadership responsibilities.
  • Experience in a manufacturing environment with strong knowledge of cost accounting and inventory management.
  • Thorough understanding of GAAP and financial reporting requirements.
  • Advanced proficiency with ERP systems and Microsoft Excel.
  • Strong analytical, organizational, and problem‑solving skills.
• Preferred:
  • CPA or CMA designation.
  • Experience with ERP implementations or system enhancements.
  • Knowledge of lean manufacturing principles and operational finance.
