Job summary

Veolia in North America is seeking a Water Distribution Technician in Boise to install and maintain mains, hydrants, valves, meters, and related equipment. This is a physically demanding outdoor role, often in wet or extreme conditions, with potential overtime and emergency response.

You will read maps, operate heavy equipment, and document work using digital devices. A High School Diploma/GED and a valid CDL Class A are required, with state licenses obtainable within the specified timeframe.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma/GED is required.
• Proven related construction experience.
• Water utility pipeline and heavy equipment experience preferred.
• Field operations and water distribution system work experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Maintains water distribution system by repairing, tapping and installing mains and service lines, installing and maintaining valves, hydrants, blow-off, mains, meters and service lines, and performing flushing activities.
• Provides excavation restoration in grass, sidewalks, roads, easements and rights of way.
• Performs carpentry, painting and plumbing as necessary.
• Performs flow tests, leak surveys, line locations, and field water quality tests.
• Obtains various water samples and delivers them to the lab for analysis.
• Maintains accurate records of work performed.
• Locates water distribution facilities (mains, service lines, etc.).
• Concrete work; form, pour, and finish.
• Welding and metal fabrication.
