Job summary

ACV Auctions is seeking an Inspector in the Dallas area to join a growing team. You will inspect vehicles at dealerships, auctions, and off-lease sites, document condition reports, and estimate repair or replacement costs for the ACV platform to support transparent sourcing and selling of used vehicles.

The role requires 1 year of auto-field experience, strong communication, and the ability to work outdoors and independently.

Qualifications

• 1 year experience in automobile field with customer service background
• Fluent reading, writing, and spoken English
• Ability to work outside in the elements for extended periods
• Strong problem solving and resourcefulness
• Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
• Excellent communication to understand customer needs
• Valid driver’s license and insured vehicle
• Knowledge of vehicle systems and common software/web tools
• Ability to perform manual labor (standing, lifting 25 lbs+, bending)
• Ability to drive both manual and automatic transmissions
• Adequate vision to identify defects around vehicles

Responsibilities

• Support efforts to simplify and enhance the customer experience
• Conduct inspections of vehicles at dealerships, auctions, and off-lease sites to detect damage and mechanical issues
• Prepare and submit condition reports and cost estimates
• Assist sales in up-sell or cross-sell opportunities
• Interface with dealers to ensure client satisfaction and build relationships
• Travel to dealerships and homes to inspect and write reports
• Capture multiple photos and upload to the image server
• List inspected vehicles for bidding and purchasing on the ACV platform
• Recruit independent dealerships as buyers for the platform
• Perform additional duties as assigned
