Zusammenfassung

GAI Consultants, a national multi-disciplinary engineering firm, is seeking qualified Transportation Construction Inspectors for work on transportation infrastructure projects throughout Western Pennsylvania for PennDOT, PA Turnpike, and local municipalities.

This role involves on-site inspection, monitoring and documentation of roadway, highway and bridge construction activities, with emphasis on safety, contract compliance and accurate record-keeping. Strong communication skills are essential.

Qualifikationen

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Some college or bachelor's degree in civil engineering or construction management preferred.
• Strong communication and time management skills.
• Ability to use IPADs and field apps for documentation.
• Valid driver's license required.

Aufgaben

• Monitor, inspect and document daily on-site construction activities.
• Ensure compliance with contract documents and applicable state and local codes.
• Consult with contractors, engineers, job superintendents, and others in matters related to plans, specifications, materials, equipment, and methods.
• Prepares and maintains daily inspection progress reports, photographs, discrepancies, and corrective actions.
• Checks shop drawings and contractors' quotations for variation.
• Maintains records of quantities and cost of materials used.
• Monitors and documents erosion and stormwater BMPs and controls for proper functions.
• Prepares contractors' periodic progress payment claims and recommended payment.
• Effective oral and written communication.
• Attend site meetings.
