Job summary

GAI Consultants, Inc. is seeking a Construction Technician (Transportation Construction Inspector) for District 11 projects in 2025. The role is based out of GAI's Cranberry, PA office and involves inspecting contractor work, ensuring contract compliance, and reporting progress.

Applicants should have a High School diploma or GED, strong English communication, and 6+ years of highway/bridge inspection experience; NICET and OSHA certifications are preferred. Some travel may be required.

Qualifications

• Requires 6+ years of highway or bridge inspection experience.
• High school diploma or GED; advanced degrees may substitute for experience.
• Ability to read, write and communicate effectively in English.
• Travel up to 100% may be required.

Responsibilities

• Ensure compliance with contract documents by the contractor.
• Consult with contractors, consultants, engineers, job superintendents, and others on plans, specifications, materials, equipment, and methods.
• Prepare daily progress reports and maintain progress schedules.
• Check shop drawings and contractors' quotations for variation.
• Prepare contractors' payment claims and recommend payment.
