Job summary

MBP is seeking a Construction Inspector I to support field compliance, quality assurance, and documentation on active construction projects. The role requires growth in responsibility and strong interaction with contractors, agencies and project stakeholders.

Ideal candidates will obtain required certifications within 18 months and perform inspections across various highway, bridge and building projects while maintaining thorough project records and communicating findings clearly.

Qualifications

• Progressive inspection experience on transportation or building projects.
• Ability to obtain required certifications within 18 months of hire.
• Experience inspecting multiple construction operations (buildings, roads, bridges).
• Familiarity with DOT courses and field testing is a plus.
• Strong documentation and reporting skills.

Responsibilities

• Represent MBP on active construction sites, verify conformance with specs and codes.
• Coordinate with agency personnel, contractors, and MBP team members to address discrepancies.
• Document project activities and field issues impacting schedule or budget.
• Review payment applications with guidance from senior team members.
• Perform field checks of red-line as-built plans and conduct on-site inspections.
• Maintain project records including daily diaries, photos, and inspection reports.
• Prepare daily/ monthly project reports and punch lists; ensure corrective actions.
