Job summary

Qualifications

• Construction inspection experience on bridges, roads, canals, utilities or trails.
• Ability to read and interpret project plans and specifications.
• Proficiency in basic MS Word/Excel and ability to document field work.
• WVTRET certification or ability to obtain within 6 months of hire.

Responsibilities

• Perform daily field inspections and observations of contractor work for heavy highway/bridge projects.
• Measure, compute, and record contract quantities for payment.
• Read and interpret plans, specs, and standards.
• Sample and test materials per project standards and specs.
• Ensure work/materials meet contract requirements.
• Document daily progress, conformance, manpower, and quantities.
• Enter progress and materials into SiteManager and ProjectWise.
• Identify and communicate project issues to managers and contractor.
• Identify and report unsafe conditions on site.
