Job summary

Greenman-Pedersen, Inc. (GPI) is seeking Construction Inspectors to join our West Virginia team in Charleston and surrounding locations. You will conduct daily field inspections on heavy highway and bridge projects, read plans, and document progress while coordinating with project managers.

The role requires reading plans, maintaining contract quantities, and performing material testing per standards. Willingness to work varied shifts and adhere to safety protocols is essential.

Qualifications

• Must possess a WVTRET Certification (any Level 1-5) or obtain within 6 months of hire.
• Certification in WVDOH Materials Testing is a plus but not required.
• Able to read and interpret project plans, specs and standards.
• Must read, write and understand English; basic computer skills required.
• Work hours may include days, nights, weekends as needed.

Responsibilities

• Perform daily field inspections and observations on heavy highway/bridge construction.
• Measure, compute, record, and maintain contract quantities for payments.
• Read and interpret project plans, specifications, and standards.
• Perform material sampling and testing per project standards.
• Ensure contractor work/materials meet standards and specifications.
• Document daily project progress, conformance, manpower, and quantities.
• Enter data into SiteManager and ProjectWise accurately.
• Communicate issues to project managers and contractors.
• Identify, assess, and report unsafe conditions on site.
