Job summary

Stantec is seeking a Construction Inspector to support WVDOH projects in West Virginia. You will perform daily inspection duties on complex roadway, bridge and structure projects under general supervision, ensuring adherence to plans, specs, and contract documents.

Responsibilities include coordinating with contractor representatives, generating inspection reports, and maintaining QA/QC documentation while mentoring junior staff. Field work will require exposure to weather and outdoor conditions.

Qualifications

Technical degree or equivalent in related field or combined education/experience.
3–5+ years of construction inspection experience.
WVTRET Accreditation Level II, III, or IV.
Experience with WVDOT procedures and policies.

Responsibilities

Act as Construction Inspector for WVDOH on roadway, structure and bridge projects.
Coordinate inspections with contractor, client and stakeholders.
Generate and file inspection reports and QA/QC documentation.
Document materials and test reports for Site Manager/Project Wise entries.
Manage deadlines and closeout documentation.
Inspect construction features and measure quantities and dimensions.
Review plans, specs, RFIs, submittals and pay apps.
Prepare monthly quantity data for contractor payments.
Maintain project document files and photos.
Mentor junior staff on procedures, standards, and software.
