Job summary

Greenman-Pedersen Inc. in West Virginia is seeking motivated Construction Inspectors to join our team. This role focuses on daily field inspections of bridges, roads, and utilities, with emphasis on accurate documentation and adherence to project plans.

The position requires technical reading of plans and strong collaboration with the project team. Ideal candidates bring WV boater certifications or WVDOH experience, and are willing to work day or night hours, including weekends, to support

Qualifications

• Must possess a WVTRET Certification (any Level 1-5) or be able to obtain a WVTRET certification within 6 months of hire.
• Previous construction inspection experience.
• Certification in WVDOH Material Testing programs is a plus but not required.
• Familiarity with WVDOH SiteManager and ProjectWise applications.
• Must be able to work independently and/or with a GPI/WVDOH Project Team.
• Available to work contractor hours including day/night shifts and weekends if needed.

Responsibilities

• Perform daily field inspections and observations of contractor work for heavy highway and bridge construction projects.
• Measure, compute, record, and maintain contract quantities for payments.
• Read and interpret project plans, specifications, and standards.
• Perform material sampling and testing according to project standards.
• Ensure contractor work/materials meet specified standards and specs.
• Document daily project progress, including nonconformances and quantities.
