Job summary

GPI seeks motivated Construction Inspectors with experience on bridges, roads, canals, and utilities to join our West Virginia team in Morgantown. You will perform daily field inspections, read plans, and ensure contractor work meets standards.

Applicants should have a WVTRET certification (or obtain within 6 months), familiarity with SiteManager and ProjectWise, and the ability to work day or night shifts as needed. GPI offers an employee-owned environment and growth opportunities.

Qualifications

• Must possess a WVTRET Certification (any Level 1-5) or obtain within 6 months.
• Familiarity with WVDOH SiteManager and ProjectWise applications is a plus.
• Read, write, and understand English plans and directions.

Responsibilities

• Perform daily field inspections and observations of contractor’s work on heavy highway and/or bridge projects.
• Measure, compute, record, and maintain contract quantities for contractor payments.
• Read and interpret project plans, specifications, and standards.
• Perform material sampling and testing per project standards and specifications.
• Ensure contractor’s work/materials meet standards and specifications.
• Document daily project progress, including conformance/nonconformance, manpower, equipment, and quantities.
• Enter project progress, materials, and documentation into SiteManager and ProjectWise.
• Identify and communicate project issues to project managers and the contractor.
• Identify, assess, and communicate unsafe conditions with the contractor.
