Job summary

Intertek is seeking a Field Technician to join the Building & Construction team in the Southeast region. You will perform field testing and inspections, assist with forensic investigations of building envelope failures, and prepare concise reports for clients and project teams.

The role offers on-the-job training and opportunities for growth, with travel most weeks and the option to work from home at client locations in the Southeast US.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED; associate degree preferred.
• Basic construction or carpentry skills required.
• Willingness to travel 75% of the time or more.
• Ability to operate power tools.
• Valid driver’s license and clean driving record.
• Ability to pass a pre-employment physical and drug screen.

Responsibilities

• Field testing projects and building inspections as assigned.
• Forensic investigations of building envelope failures.
• Communicate with clients and project team regarding site observations, test procedures, results, and reporting.
• Prepare and submit accurate, concise reports on projects assigned.
• Provide project coordination including planning, scheduling, execution and reporting.
• Maintain professional interaction with clients and project team.
