Job summary

Intertek, a leading provider of quality and safety solutions, seeks an Entry Level Field Testing Technician in St. Louis, MO to join our Building Science Solutions team. You will perform field testing, observations, and inspections of construction materials across diverse projects.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• General construction knowledge and experience with power tools.
• Mechanical aptitude and ability to understand test procedures.
• Familiarity with QA policies for test specimens.
• Must follow safety practices to protect self and others.
• Able to lift 50 lb+ and perform field duties.
• Willingness to travel up to 25% overnight.
• Valid driver’s license with reliable driving record.

Responsibilities

• Perform a variety of testing, project specific observations and site assessment duties under direct supervision and/or from detailed controlled procedures.
• Operate testing equipment and conduct testing (i.e., air and water infiltration).
• Provide assessment of data through reporting.
• Prepare professionally written field reports.
• Work utilizing drawings, specifications and diagrams.
• Use specific methods to observe site activities and perform tasks.
• Make detailed observations and provide recommendations for improvements.
• Maintain detailed documentation and data from test results.
• Communicate effectively with client and project teams.
