Job summary

Intertek is seeking a Field Technician to join our Building & Construction team for the Southeast region. The role involves field testing, building inspections, and forensic investigations of envelope failures. You will travel regularly and may work from home when not on client sites, supported by company-funded vehicles and on‑the‑job training.

Entry level and experienced applicants encouraged. The position emphasizes independent work, strong communication with clients, and precise reporting.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required; associate degree preferred.
• Construction experience welcomed; basic carpentry and measurement skills required.
• Willingness to learn to use power tools and build envelope components.

Responsibilities

• Perform field testing projects and building inspections as assigned.
• Conduct forensic investigations of building envelope failures.
• Prepare accurate reports and communicate results to clients and project team.
• Coordinate projects including planning, scheduling, execution and reporting.
• Interact professionally with clients and subcontractors to maintain strong relationships.
