Job summary

Intertek Building & Construction seeks an Entry Level Field Testing Technician to join the St. Louis team.

You will perform field testing, observations, and inspections of construction materials, including air barriers, waterproofing, cladding, glazing and roofing systems, with occasional travel up to 25% overnight. Core duties include operating testing equipment, generating field reports, and communicating findings to project teams while following safety policies.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• General construction/carpentry knowledge and experience using power tools.
• Technical competency to understand and communicate test procedures, specifications, and results; mechanical aptitude.
• Familiarity with QA policies and procedures related to test specimens handling.
• Adherence to safety practices to ensure personal and coworker safety.
• Physical ability to lift 50 lbs or more and perform tasks requiring bending, climbing, and crawling.
• Ability to travel up to 25% overnight/out of town.
• Valid driver’s license and reliable driving record.

Responsibilities

• Perform testing, observations, and site assessment activities under supervision or detailed procedures.
• Operate testing equipment and conduct tests (air and water infiltration).
• Provide assessment of data through reporting.
• Prepare professionally written field reports.
• Work using drawings, specifications, and diagrams.
• Observe site activities using defined methods and present improvement recommendations.
• Maintain detailed documentation and data from test results.
• Communicate effectively with client and project teams.
