Job summary

RMS Energy seeks a P&C Field Technician I to perform protection and control relay testing, calibration, and commissioning in field environments. You will work with relay systems, pilot channels, and substation controls while ensuring safety and reliability in high‑voltage settings.

The role requires travel up to 70% of the time, a high school diploma or GED, and strong documentation skills with MS Office. Candidate must be able to lift 50+ lbs and work flexible hours including overtime.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Experience with substation relays and calibration preferred.
• Strong knowledge of three‑phase systems and protective relays.
• Experience using test gear and wiring tools in the field.
• Good documentation and MS Office skills.

Responsibilities

• Perform protection and control relay testing and calibration.
• Troubleshoot and repair substation relays and control systems.
• Commission substations and related equipment.
• Collaborate with field service teams to complete assignments safely.
• Document work and ensure safety compliance.
• Travel to field sites; adapt to outdoor conditions; PPE compliant.
