Job summary

RISE Group, Inc. seeks a Field Technician for its Construction Materials Testing department to serve as the on-site representative for routine material testing and quality inspections.

Based in Braintree, MA, the role requires daily travel to projects across MA and RI and hands-on field testing with accurate data reporting. Responsibilities include soil, concrete, and asphalt testing, prompt documentation, and strict adherence to ASTM/AASHTO state DOT standards.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Ability to obtain OSHA, NICET, NETTCP, ICC and ACI certifications within first year.
• Must have valid driver’s license and clean driving history.
• Strong attention to detail and safety mindset.

Responsibilities

• Perform field testing of soil, concrete, and asphalt to ensure compliance with plans and specs.
• Document field observations and results using digital reporting software for daily submission.
• Interpret drawings and industry standards to follow testing protocols.
• Maintain testing equipment clean, calibrated, and in good order.
• Communicate professionally with project teams, engineers, and regulatory personnel.
• Collect and transport samples from field to laboratory for analysis.
• Operate company vehicles safely through active construction zones.
• Adhere to OSHA regulations and internal safety procedures.
• Work outdoors on active sites with uneven terrain and exposure to elements.
