Job summary

UES is seeking a hands-on Construction Materials Testing Field Technician I to support inspection and testing projects on-site. You will conduct soil, concrete, asphalt, and aggregate tests, collect samples, and prepare reports while traveling to diverse job sites.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required; vocational training in construction, geology, or related field is a plus.
• 0-3 years of field-based outdoor or physically demanding experience preferred.
• Valid driver’s license with a safe driving record.
• Industry certifications such as ACI Level 1 or ability to obtain within a specified time.
• Commitment to workplace safety, OSHA standards, and PPE usage.
• Basic computer proficiency including MS Office and Field Data Collection software.
• Ability to read, write, and interpret blueprints and technical documents.
• Strong time management, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to work independently and in a team; flexible with schedules and travel.

Responsibilities

• Conduct field and laboratory testing of soil, concrete, asphalt, aggregate, and other construction materials to verify compliance with project specifications and regulations.
• Properly collect, label, and transport samples from job sites to laboratories for testing and analysis.
• Ensure testing requirements are met and compliant with project specifications and company policies.
• Complete detailed reports, logs, and documentation of test results for project managers.
• Maintain testing equipment and ensure accuracy and proper functioning.
• Document test results and site observations, preparing timely reports and presentations.
• Communicate effectively with dispatch, field supervisors, contractors, and project managers.
• Adhere to project timelines and deadlines; adapt to weather and travel demands.
