Job summary

Sunstate Equipment Co. is hiring a Field Technician III in Marietta, AL. You will diagnose and repair diesel engines, hydraulic and electrical systems, and operate within a collaborative field team.

The role requires at least four years in diesel mechanics within construction or rental settings. You must bring your own specialized tools and be prepared for a performance-based quarterly bonus potential. Overtime is common, and weekly pay is provided.

Qualifications

• 4+ years experience as a diesel mechanic, with construction equipment or rental background.
• Troubleshooting and diagnosing electrical and hydraulic systems, diesel engines, including Tier 4 and aftertreatment.
• Experience repairing diesel and gas engines, electricals, hydraulics, pneumatics, and drive trains.
• Must bring own tools worth $10,000+.
• Experience with industrial pumps, power equipment, or HVAC is a plus.
• TWIC or OSHA Basic Plus preferred (to obtain if not held).

• Inspect, service, and test equipment.
• Maintain maintenance and repair records, including warranty records.

Typical Schedule: Monday - Friday 7:00 AM to 5:00PM (Overtime Eligible)

Required Skills & Experience

• A minimum of 4 years’ experience as diesel mechanic, with a construction equipment or rental background required.
• Proficient troubleshooting and diagnosing skills with electrical and hydraulic systems, diesel engines, including Tier 4 and aftertreatment systems required.
• Experience performing major and minor repairs on diesel and gas engines, electrical, hydraulics, pneumatics, as well as drive trains is required.
• Must have the necessary tools you need to do the job; averaging $10,000+ in value.
• Having mechanic experience working on industrial pumps, power equipment, and HVAC is a plus!
• Having a TWIC or Safety Council OSHA Basic Plus certification is preferred, will need to obtain if not held.
• Basic computer knowledge for service work orders, parts ordering, and service related tasks.
• Inspect, service, and test equipment, ensuring performance to manufacturer specifications.
• Perform routine service on equipment which includes checking fluid levels, changing fluid and lubricating.
• Perform novice level welding repairs (MIG & SMAW).
• Prepare and maintain accurate records on the maintenance and repair of equipment, including warranty records.
