Job summary

Lumen Technologies seeks a Field Technician II in Charlotte, NC to install, test, and troubleshoot telecom equipment across network layers. You will handle fiber, transport gear, and customer premises equipment, ensuring service delivery and quality while supporting field operations.

The role demands 2+ years of hands-on experience with telecom systems, valid driver's license, and ability to perform physical tasks in all weather conditions.

Qualifications

• 2+ years of installation, testing and turn-up of telecom equipment including SONET, DCS, DWDM, routers and switches.
• Strong technical background with experience on transport gear and critical infrastructure.
• Must have at least two of four technician disciplines: Transmission, Switching, TCP/IP, Outside Plant.

Responsibilities

• Troubleshoots network equipment, replaces defective units and helps restore service.
• Installs and tests Next Gen tech: Edge Compute, Wavelength services, Fiber Transport, Ethernet, IP layers.
• Maintains asset records and coordinates shipping/receiving of materials.
• Performs preventive maintenance on network and critical infrastructure equipment.
