Job summary

Eightelevengroup is seeking a skilled Telecom Technician for on-site work around the Raleigh, NC area. The role involves installation, programming, testing, and maintenance of fiber optics, microwave, and telecom infrastructure across diverse environments.

The ideal candidate has 2+ years in telecom with fiber/microwave experience, the ability to lift 50 lbs, and willingness to travel and work overtime, including second shift. DOT health card eligibility is preferred.

Qualifications

• Associate's Degree in Electronics or equivalent is required.
• Two or more years of telecom installation/maintenance experience.
• Ability to lift 50 lbs, climb ladders, and work outdoors in all weather.
• Willingness to travel extensively and work overtime, weekends, and second shift.
• DOT driver’s health card eligibility is required.
• Experience with fiber optics, microwave, data networks, and power/grounding systems.

Responsibilities

• Install, program, test, and maintain telecom equipment and systems.
• Troubleshoot and repair telecom infrastructure and equipment.
• Use specialized test equipment (OTDR, spectrum analyzers, RF monitors).
• Perform fiber splicing (mechanical and fusion).
• Work in diverse environments, including outdoor sites, power plants, and offices.
