Job summary

Lumen Technologies in Nashville, TN is seeking a Field Technician II to install, test, and troubleshoot telecom equipment across our network. The role covers fiber, transport, and critical infrastructure responsibilities in multiple sites.

The candidate will handle NG tech testing and CPE delivery, work with asset management, and participate in on-call rotations. Requires 2+ years in field telecom and a valid driver's license.

Qualifications

• 2+ years in installation, testing, turn-up of telecom equipment (SONET, DCS, DWDM, routers, switches).
• Strong technical background with transport gear and critical infrastructure (HVAC, high-voltage systems, DC power).
• Experience in two of four disciplines: Transmission, Switching, TCP/IP, Outside Plant.

Responsibilities

• Troubleshoots network equipment and restores service when issues arise.
• Performs installation, change, decommission, and testing of NG technologies (Edge Compute, Wavelength, Fiber, Ethernet, SONET, IP).
• Install and test network and customer equipment (CPE) and deliver end-user services.
• Manage asset, shipments, and inventory; maintain tools and equipment.
• Perform preventive maintenance on network infrastructure including HVAC and DC power systems.
• Update inventory records and provide status reports to management.
