Job summary

Astreya is seeking a Field Technician II to support data centers and POPs across assigned locations. You will coordinate with network teams and local vendors for installation, repair and maintenance, with deep hands-on experience deploying rack and stack configurations.

Travel is required. You will maintain high quality standards at data centers and POPs, perform site surveys, assist with equipment staging, and coordinate with LECs to ensure timely work.

Qualifications

• Associate degree or equivalent with 2–5 years related experience
• Data center & POP infrastructure knowledge including OSP/ISP cabling, power & environmental controls
• Experience with telecom/testing equipment such as OTDRs and fiber testing
• Ability to work with LECs, vendors and non-technical end users
• Willingness to travel research and site visits
• Proficient with ITSM platforms and basic project management tools
• Strong documentation and data reconciliation skills

Responsibilities

• Maintain the highest quality standards in all data center locations and POPs
• Perform physical installation, repair, maintenance, and testing with meticulous attention to quality
• Assist with card adds or replacements and software upgrades
• Recommend process improvements for network assets and related systems
• Provide site survey support for OSP/ISP projects and large deployments
• Perform site audits and reconcile data discrepancies with relevant teams
• Coordinate local construction vendors and ensure compliance with MOPs and standards
• Meet with LECs and technicians to coordinate timely installation, repair, and maintenance
• Conduct site surveys for network builds, augments, or decommissions
• Assist in coordinating site access, equipment staging, and other tasks
• Other duties as required
