Lumen Technologies in Wilmington, NC is seeking a field technician to support installation, repair, maintenance and network operations of critical telecommunications infrastructure. You will work in the Wilmington market and surrounding areas, hands-on in the field, building technical expertise and reliability.

The role emphasizes learning, safety, and customer service, with company-provided training, tools, and a vehicle to set you up for success from day one.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Willingness to learn new technologies, processes and skills.
• Able to work independently in a field-based environment.
• Strong communication and problem-solving skills.
• Valid driver’s license and ability to operate a company vehicle.
• Willingness to travel throughout the Wilmington market and surrounding service areas.
• On-call 24x7 on a rotational basis; standby, dispatch and overtime as required.

Responsibilities

• Perform installation and repair activities supporting transport network products and infrastructure.
• Support day-to-day network operations and maintenance activities across the service area.
• Conduct preventive maintenance inspections to ensure network reliability and performance.
• Perform battery maintenance and related infrastructure support tasks.
• Troubleshoot and respond to operational issues affecting network services.
• Maintain documentation and follow safety procedures.
• Collaborate with team members to support critical communications networks and customer service objectives.
