Job summary

Lumen Technologies is hiring a Field Technician I in Bellevue, NE to install, maintain, troubleshoot, and restore network services in the field for enterprise customers. Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED or up to 2 years of relevant job experience including 1+ years network monitoring, installation, or maintenance/repair.
• Basic networking knowledge and an interest in telecommunications technology.
• Valid driver's license with the ability to operate a company vehicle.
• Ability to work in a field environment, including climbing, crouching, lifting, and other physical job requirements.
• Strong learning aptitude, work ethic, and problem‑solving skills.
• Ability to work overtime and participate in an on‑call rotation.
• Strong communication skills and a customer‑focused mindset.
• Demonstrated reliability and commitment to long‑term career growth.
• Sit, climb, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, and crawl; lift 50 lbs.; works in all weather conditions

Responsibilities

• Troubleshoots network equipment, removes/replaces defective equipment, and works with appropriate resources to isolate and ultimately restore network.
• Assists in the installation/change/decommission and testing of Next Generation technologies such as Edge Compute, Wavelength, Fiber Optic transport, Ethernet, SONET and IP network layers for all available bandwidths offered.
• Install, activate, test, and maintain network services and telecommunications equipment.
• Perform basic troubleshooting and repair activities for customer and network service issues.
• Conduct fiber testing, Ethernet testing, and circuit validation activities as assigned.
• Travel to customer and network locations to complete field service work.
• Support outage response and service restoration efforts, including participation in an on‑call rotation.
• Deliver a positive customer experience through professional communication and technical support.
• Follow safety procedures while working in a physically demanding field environment.
• Collaborate with team members and participate in ongoing training and development programs.
