Job summary

UES is seeking a Field Technician I to support engineering, environmental services, and materials testing projects. You will perform on-site inspections, collect samples, and conduct tests to verify compliance with specifications while prioritizing safety and accurate documentation.

The role involves frequent travel (up to 70%), outdoor work, and collaboration with experienced teams to solve real-time challenges and support critical infrastructure projects while gaining hands-on field experience.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required; vocational training or coursework is a plus.
• 0-3 years of field-based outdoor experience preferred.
• Valid driver’s license with acceptable driving record; ability to operate company vehicles safely.
• Industry certifications such as ACI Level 1 Concrete Testing or ability to obtain.
• Commitment to workplace safety, OSHA standards and PPE.

Responsibilities

• Conduct field and laboratory testing of soil, concrete, asphalt, and other construction materials.
• Collect, label, and transport samples to laboratories for testing.
• Maintain testing equipment and ensure calibration and proper use.
• Prepare detailed reports, logs, and documentation of test results.
• Coordinate with supervisors and project managers; provide timely updates on status.
