Lumen is a trusted network provider delivering AI-ready connectivity across cloud, edge, and AI workloads. We’re looking for a Field Technician I to manage assets, assist in installs and testing, and ensure network integrity in dynamic conditions.

As an entry-level to mid-level role, you will learn to support DS0 through OC192 services, monitor routes, and help restore service during outages while maintaining documentation and inventory across sites.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED; up to 2 years related experience.
• Willingness to be on-call 24x7 and travel as required.
• Knowledge of locating fiber optic cable and right-of-way."],

Responsibilities

• Troubleshoots and restores network equipment and faults.
• Assists in installation and testing of NG technologies (Edge Compute, Wavelength, Fiber, Ethernet, OC/SONET).
• Locates and marks underground facilities using standard tools.
• Performs preventive maintenance on HVAC, high-voltage and DC power systems.
• Maintains asset records and coordinates shipping/receiving of materials.
• Updates trouble tickets and reports status to management.
