Job summary

UES is seeking a Field Technician I to support engineering, environmental services, materials testing, and inspection projects. You will perform on-site inspections, collect samples, and help ensure compliance with project specs and regulatory requirements.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required; vocational coursework is a plus.
• 0–3 years field outdoor experience preferred in construction, materials testing, geotech, or related.
• Valid driver’s license with clean driving record; ability to operate company vehicles safely.
• Industry certifications such as ACI Level 1 or ability to obtain within timeframe.
• Commitment to safety, PPE use, and OSHA standards; proficient with MS Office and data collection tools.

Responsibilities

• Conduct field and laboratory testing of soils, concrete, asphalt, aggregate, and other materials.
• Collect, label, and transport samples to laboratories for testing and analysis.
• Prepare detailed test result reports and maintain logs and documentation.
• Maintain testing equipment and ensure calibration and proper functioning.
• Communicate status updates to dispatch, supervisors, and project managers; meet deadlines.
• Operate and maintain company vehicle; assist with site safety and PPE compliance.
• Adapt to changing project needs and participate in training and certifications.
