Job summary

UES, Inc. is seeking a motivated Field Technician I to support engineering, environmental services, and materials testing projects. You will perform on-site inspections, field and lab testing, and environmental sampling to ensure compliance with industry standards and regulatory requirements.

The role offers frequent travel to job sites, opportunities for hands-on learning, and career advancement in a dynamic geotechnical and environmental services environment.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required; vocational training or coursework in construction, engineering, geology, or related field is a plus.
• 0-3 years of experience in field-based outdoor or physically demanding roles preferred.
• Valid driver’s license with acceptable driving record; ability to operate company‑assigned vehicles safely.
• Industry certifications such as ACI Level 1 Concrete Testing, or ability to obtain within a specified time.

Responsibilities

• Conduct field and laboratory testing of soil, concrete, asphalt, aggregate, and other construction materials to verify compliance with project specifications and regulatory requirements.
• Collect, label, and transport samples from job sites to laboratories for testing and analysis.
• Prepare detailed test reports, logs, and documentation of results for project managers and stakeholders.
• Maintain testing equipment and ensure proper operation and calibration according to guidelines.
• Document test results, site conditions, and observations; present findings in reports and presentations.
