Job summary

UES seeks a Field Technician I to support engineering, environmental services, materials testing, and inspections. You will perform on-site inspections, collect samples, and run tests to ensure compliance with project specs and regulatory requirements.

The role requires frequent travel, outdoor work, and adherence to safety protocols. Ideal candidates are detail-oriented, safety-conscious, and capable of working with a team in dynamic environments.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent; related coursework a plus.
• 0–3 years field-based outdoor experience preferred.
• Valid driver\'s license with clean driving record.
• Certification such as ACI Level 1 Concrete Testing, or ability to obtain.
• OSHA safety compliance and PPE knowledge.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office and basic data collection software.
• Ability to read blueprints and interpret technical documents.
• Strong time management, organization, and problem-solving skills.
• Willingness to travel up to 70% and work outdoors.

Responsibilities

• Conduct field and laboratory testing of soils, concrete, asphalt, aggregate, and other construction materials.
• Collect, label, and transport samples to laboratories for testing.
• Prepare detailed reports, logs, and documentation of test results.
• Maintain and calibrate testing equipment; ensure accuracy.
• Communicate with dispatch, field supervisors, and project managers in real time.
• Adhere to safety protocols and OSHA regulations on site and in travel.
