Job summary

UES, Inc. is seeking a Field Technician II to support engineering, environmental services, materials testing, and inspection projects. The role involves advanced field and laboratory testing, on-site inspections, and ensuring projects meet industry standards and regulatory requirements.

You will work outdoors, often independently, with opportunities to mentor junior technicians. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, technically proficient, and committed to safety.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of field-based experience in materials testing, construction inspection, geotechnical fieldwork, or a related industry.
• ACI Level 1 Concrete Testing certification preferred or ability to obtain within a specified time period.
• Valid driver's license with an acceptable driving record; ability to safely operate company vehicles.
• Commitment to safety and adherence to OSHA regulations, industry best practices, and company safety policies.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook) and Field Data Collection (FDC) software or similar industry tools.

Responsibilities

• Perform field testing on soil, concrete, asphalt, aggregate, and other construction materials, ensuring compliance with project specifications and industry standards.
• Collect, label, and transport material samples to laboratories for analysis, following proper procedures to maintain sample integrity.
• Ensure all testing equipment is properly maintained and functioning correctly, following manufacturer and company guidelines.
• Complete detailed reports, logs, and documentation of test results, ensuring accuracy and timely submission to project managers and stakeholders.
• Communicate effectively with dispatch, field supervisors, contractors, and project managers, providing real-time updates on job status, site conditions, and any issues encountered.
• May mentor and support junior field technicians, providing guidance on field procedures, testing methods, and safety best practices.
