UES, Inc. seeks a skilled Field Technician II to support engineering, environmental services, materials testing, and inspection projects.

The role involves advanced field and laboratory testing, on-site inspections, and ensuring construction and environmental works meet standards and regulatory requirements. The ideal candidate will be detail-oriented, technically proficient, and capable of independent work in dynamic outdoor environments, with potential mentoring duties for junior technicians

Qualifications

3+ years of field-based experience in materials testing, construction inspection, geotechnical fieldwork, or a related industry.
ACI Level 1 Concrete Testing certification preferred or ability to obtain within a specified time period.
Valid driver’s license with an acceptable driving record; ability to safely operate company vehicles.
Commitment to safety and adherence to OSHA regulations, industry best practices, and company safety policies.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and Field Data Collection (FDC) software or similar industry tools.
Ability to read, write, and interpret blueprints, procedures, manuals, technical documents, and reports.

Responsibilities

Perform field testing on soil, concrete, asphalt, aggregate, and other construction materials, ensuring compliance with project specifications and industry standards.
Collect, label, and transport material samples to laboratories for analysis, following proper procedures to maintain sample integrity.
Ensure all testing equipment is properly maintained, and functioning correctly, following manufacturer and company guidelines.
Complete detailed reports, logs, and documentation of test results, ensuring accuracy and timely submission to project managers and stakeholders.
Communicate effectively with dispatch, field supervisors, contractors, and project managers, providing real-time updates on job status, site conditions, and any issues encountered.
May be asked to mentor and support junior field technicians, providing guidance on field procedures, testing methods, and safety best practices.
Follow all OSHA, company, and client safety protocols, ensuring strict adherence to PPE usage, hazard awareness, and field safety guidelines.
Adapt to changing project requirements and schedules, including early morning, weekend, or overnight work as needed.
Operate and maintain assigned company vehicle, including scheduling routine maintenance and ensuring proper upkeep.
Travel to job sites within the designated region, which may require overnight stays based on project needs.
Flexibility to work variable schedules, including early mornings, weekends, overtime, and potential overnight travel based on project demands.
