The Field Technician I role involves on-site inspections, material testing, sampling, and reporting to ensure compliance with specifications and regulatory standards.

The position emphasizes outdoor fieldwork, frequent travel (up to 70%), and collaboration with field and lab teams.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required; vocational training or coursework in construction, engineering, geology, or related field is a plus.
• 0-3 years field-based, outdoor, or physically demanding work preferred.
• Valid driver’s license with clean driving record; ability to operate company vehicles safely.

Responsibilities

• Conduct field and laboratory testing of soil, concrete, asphalt, aggregate, and other construction materials to verify compliance with project specifications and regulatory requirements.
• Collect, label, and transport samples from job sites to laboratories for testing and analysis.
• Maintain testing equipment and ensure proper maintenance as per company and manufacturer guidelines.
• Document test results, observations, and site conditions in reports and logs.
• Communicate effectively with dispatch, field supervisors, contractors, and project managers; provide real-time updates on job status and safety concerns.
• Adhere to project timelines and schedules; travel to job sites as required; participate in ongoing training and certification programs to maintain proficiency.
