Job summary

Lumen seeks a Field Technician I in Minnesota to manage assets, process deliveries, and coordinate shipping and receiving of materials. You will maintain tools and equipment, assist in installs and testing, troubleshoot network issues, and support restoration efforts to protect service integrity.

Requires 1+ years in network maintenance or related field, valid driver’s license, ability to lift 50 lbs, and willingness for on-call duties.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED or up to 2 years relevant experience.
• Experience in at least one technician discipline: Transmission, Switching, TCP/IP, or Outside Plant.
• Knowledge of locating fiber optic cable, right-of-way, and As-Builts.
• Must maintain site security and cleanliness.
• PC skills and familiarity with Microsoft Windows/Office.
• Ability to learn corporate databases quickly.
• On-call 24x7 on a rotational basis; overtime may be required.
• Valid driver’s license; able to lift 50 lbs and work in varied conditions.

Responsibilities

• Troubleshoots network equipment, replaces defective modules, and restores service.
• Assists in installation, changes, decommissioning, and testing of NG technologies.
• Uses tools to locate and protect underground facilities.
• Performs preventive maintenance on critical infrastructure including HVAC and DC power systems.
• Updates installation records and trouble tickets with detailed status.
