Job summary

Legacy Engineering, P.C. in Fredericksburg, Virginia, is seeking a Construction Field Technician to join the Construction Materials Testing team. This is a hands-on, outdoor role on active construction sites to verify that roads, buildings, and infrastructure are built to specification.

No prior testing experience is required, as we provide training and pay for industry certifications. The position can be full-time or part-time, with benefits and opportunities for career growth in construction

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• No prior testing experience required; training and industry certifications provided.
• Interest in construction, engineering, or field work beneficial.

Responsibilities

• Travel to construction sites in the Fredericksburg region to perform field testing of soil, concrete, and other construction materials.
• Work alongside contractors, engineers, and inspectors on active construction projects.
• Perform basic field tests using specialized equipment and industry procedures.
• Document test results and site observations using a tablet or field reports.
• Communicate with project managers and field supervisors regarding testing needs or site conditions.
• Maintain and properly use testing equipment while following safety standards.
