Legacy Engineering, P.C. is seeking a Construction Field Technician to join our Construction Materials Testing (CMT) team in Fredericksburg, VA. This hands-on, outdoor role involves performing field tests on soil, concrete, and other materials at active construction sites.

No prior testing experience is required; we provide training and pay for industry certifications. This is a great entry point for a career in construction, engineering, or infrastructure inspection.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Interest in construction, engineering, or field work.
• Comfortable working outdoors in varying weather conditions.
• Ability to lift up to 85 pounds and remain active.
• Strong attention to detail and problem-solving skills.
• Valid driver’s license with reliable transportation.

Responsibilities

• Travel to construction sites in the Fredericksburg region to perform field testing of soil, concrete, and other construction materials.
• Work alongside contractors, engineers, and inspectors on active construction projects.
• Perform basic field tests using specialized equipment and industry procedures.
• Document test results and site observations using a tablet or field reports.
• Communicate with project managers and field supervisors regarding testing needs or site conditions.
• Maintain and properly use testing equipment while following safety standards.
