Legacy Engineering, P.C. in Fredericksburg, Virginia, is hiring a Construction Field Technician for our Construction Materials Testing team. This entry-level, outdoor role conducts field testing on active sites, with training and industry certifications provided.

The position involves traveling to sites in the Fredericksburg region to test soils and concrete, documenting results, and coordinating with project managers and field supervisors. No prior testing experience is required.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Interest in construction, engineering, or field work.
• Comfortable working outdoors in varying weather conditions.
• Ability to lift up to 85 pounds and remain active throughout the workday.
• Strong attention to detail and problem-solving skills.
• Valid driver’s license with reliable transportation.
• Previous construction experience is helpful but not required.

Responsibilities

• Travel to construction sites in the Fredericksburg region to perform field testing of soil, concrete, and other construction materials.
• Work alongside contractors, engineers, and inspectors on active construction projects.
• Perform basic field tests using specialized equipment and industry procedures.
• Document test results and site observations using a tablet or field reports.
• Communicate with project managers and field supervisors regarding testing needs or site conditions.
• Maintain and properly use testing equipment while following safety standards.
