Job summary

Legacy Engineering is seeking a Construction Field Technician to support its Construction Materials Testing team. This outdoor, hands-on role involves testing soils, concrete, and other materials at active construction sites in the Fredericksburg region.

Training and industry certifications are provided by the company. You will travel to sites, document results, and communicate findings to project managers while following safety procedures.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Interest in construction, engineering, or field work.
• Ability to lift up to 85 pounds and stay active throughout shift.

Responsibilities

• Travel to construction sites in the Fredericksburg region to perform field testing of soil, concrete, and other construction materials.
• Work alongside contractors, engineers, and inspectors on active projects.
• Perform basic field tests using specialized equipment and industry procedures.
• Document test results and site observations using a tablet or field reports.
• Communicate with project managers and field supervisors regarding testing needs or site conditions.
• Maintain and properly use testing equipment while following safety standards.
