Job summary

DuraServ seeks an Apprentice Technician in Houston, TX, to install, maintain, and repair commercial door and dock equipment at customer sites. You will learn mechanical and electrical troubleshooting while ensuring safety and high-quality service.

The role supports team installation and service tasks and emphasizes clear communication with customers. On-site work, with hands-on mentorship, safety training, and participation in the ADVANCE program to build technical proficiency and career growth.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent preferred; trade school acceptable.
• Valid state driver’s license required.
• Experience with welding, mechanical, hydraulic, and electrical knowledge preferred.

Responsibilities

• Assist with the installation, service, and maintenance under supervision of experienced technicians.
• Observe and participate in basic mechanical and electrical troubleshooting tasks.
• Learn to safely use hand tools, power tools, and basic fabrication equipment.
• Maintain a safe and clean job site and comply with safety policies and regulations.
• Document basic service activities and communicate job status and needs to customers.
• Support lead technicians on installations and service calls; adapt to changing priorities.
