Job summary

Jobtailor in Dayton, Ohio, seeks an Inventory and Materials Specialist to oversee stock of electronic, mechanical, and hazardous materials used for mission support. Qualifications

• Associates Degree or 2-year technical degree in a related discipline, or High School Diploma with related experience.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Teams).
• Experience with inventory control software (TCMax) or willingness to learn.
• Ability to travel for extended periods; deployments 2–3 weeks.

Responsibilities

• Oversee stock of electronic, mechanical, and hazardous material items used for mission support.
• Compile and maintain records of quantity, cost, and type of material in stock.
• Order new material to maintain appropriate stock levels.
• Work with engineers and technicians to identify new material that needs to be ordered.
• Maintain an inventory database and generate quarterly reports.
• Ensure proper storage and disposal of hazardous materials.
• Monitor shelf life and obtain Material Data Safety Sheets for hazardous materials.
• Install, operate, maintain, repair, and modify equipment.
• Perform maintenance and technical support on equipment, integrated systems, subsystems, and software at customer and field locations.
• Analyze and evaluate products and related performance.
• Troubleshoot and diagnose malfunctions.
• Install, upgrade, and remove products.
• Maintain customer communications and relations and provide onsite training.
• Manage shipping logistics for transferring material CONUS and OCONUS

Requirements

• Associates Degree or other 2 year technical degree in a related discipline and required related experience by level; or High School Diploma or equivalent and required related experience by level
• Familiarity with Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Teams, etc.)
• Familiarity with inventory control software (TCMax), or willingness to learn
• Willingness to support flexible work hours
• Ability to adapt to changing working conditions and challenging environments
• Willingness to travel for extended periods; deployments typically last two to three weeks
• Ability to bend, reach, stoop, and lift up to 50 lbs.
• Ability and willingness to work outside in adverse weather conditions
• Up to 25% travel required, mostly CONUS
• Must be able to obtain and maintain a TS/SCI security clearance with enhanced security checks
• Secret clearance minimum to start
• Ability to work in office, industrial, laboratory, and outdoor environments
• Capable of climbing ladders and tolerating confined spaces
• Ability to obtain/maintain a commercial driver’s license (CDL) with a valid Medical Examiner’s Certificate (MCSA-5876)
