Job summary

Rockmount Research and Alloys, Inc. is seeking a Technical Sales Specialist to manage and grow an established customer base across North and West Texas and parts of Oklahoma.

This field-based role involves dealer development, product demonstrations, and expanding Rockmount, Arctec, Workhorse, and Optrel offerings. The ideal candidate has hands-on welding knowledge and proven field-sales experience, with the ability to build long‑term customer relationships and travel regularly within the

Qualifications

• Hands-on welding knowledge and the ability to discuss welding applications, consumables, performance, and troubleshooting with customers.
• Proven field-sales experience, ideally within welding, industrial supplies, manufacturing, fabrication, maintenance and repair, or related technical environment.
• Demonstrated success managing and growing an existing book of business while developing new accounts.

Responsibilities

• Protect, manage, and grow an established customer base across the territory.
• Develop new industrial, maintenance, fabrication, and repair customers.
• Identify and pursue larger industrial, end-user, and high-volume sales opportunities.
• Manage and support assigned dealer branches, building strong relationships with branch leaders and sales teams.
• Train dealer salespeople on Rockmount, Arctec, Workhorse, and Optrel products and join them on customer calls.
• Expand the adoption of Arctec Alloys, Workhorse, and Optrel products alongside Rockmount's established offering.
• Conduct product demonstrations, support customer trials, and recommend practical solutions based on each customer’s application and operating environment.
• Provide responsive technical support by phone and in the field.
• Build and manage an effective territory plan, pipeline, call schedule, and follow-up process.
• Track sales activity, customer opportunities, dealer development, and progress toward revenue and gross-profit objectives.
• Periodically assist with the training and onboarding of new Rockmount sales employees.
• Travel regularly throughout North and West Texas and Central and Western Oklahoma, as well as to assigned dealer locations and customer accounts outside the core territory when required.
