Job summary

Pivotal Talent Search Inc. is seeking a Technical Product Specialist to provide advanced technical support for welding equipment across the customer lifecycle.

You will troubleshoot complex issues, guide system setup and operation, and support Sales and field teams while coordinating with manufacturers to resolve problems quickly and accurately. Strong communication and hands-on expertise are essential, with travel about 15–20% for onsite support and training.

Qualifications

• 5+ years in welding, fabrication, or related technical field.
• Strong mechanical and electrical troubleshooting ability.
• Welding and fabrication experience preferred; orbital welding desirable.
• Willingness to travel ~15–20% to customer sites.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Provide advanced technical support for welding equipment and related products.
• Troubleshoot equipment, setup, programming, electrical, mechanical, and operational issues with customers.
• Take ownership of assigned technical cases from initial handoff through resolution.
• Diagnose issues remotely via phone, email, video, photographs, system data, and other information.
• Provide onsite technical support when remote troubleshooting is insufficient or required.
• Support equipment installation, startup, configuration, testing, and training.
• Work with customers to understand applications and recommend equipment setup and operating parameters.
• Assist Technical Project Managers with technical requirements, testing, and training on complex projects.
• Assist Sales with complex technical questions and applications when needed.
• Develop deep product-line expertise and stay updated with manufacturer updates.
• Participate in manufacturer training and continuing technical education as required.
