Job summary

The City of New York seeks a Field Tech for the Emergency Repair Program (ERP) in the Division of Emergency Operations and Enhanced Enforcement. You will report to the Site Director and support compliance tracking, field investigations, and enforcement under the Fix the City initiative.

Duties include inspections, contract monitoring, and reporting. Qualifications include a HS diploma or higher, construction knowledge, and proficiency with MS Office.

Qualifications

• Regulatory knowledge: NYC DEP regs; Rules of NY Title 15 Ch 1.
• Excellent organizational and communication abilities.
• Ability to read and interpret contract specs and drawings.
• Proficient with MS Office (Excel/Word/Outlook/Access).
• Field safety, site inspections, and proper permit handling.
• Experience in construction management is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Inspect, direct and monitor emergency repairs per plans and specs.
• Ensure abatement methods comply with laws and regulations.
• Monitor contract performance and resolve issues.
• Prepare field reports, scopes of work, and cost estimates.
• Review contractor requisitions for payment and change orders.
• Ensure permits are obtained before starting projects.
• Perform scoping and data entry into HPDInfo per guidelines.
