Job summary

EPA Risk Assessor training is provided within four months, with scheduling that may include evenings and weekends. Preference given to bilingual candidates.

Qualifications

• Strong verbal and written communication skills.
• Proficient in Microsoft applications.
• Background in heating, plumbing, electrical, and general construction.

Responsibilities

• Inspecting, directing and monitoring work for HUD Lead Grant, Healthy Homes Grant, emergency repairs and environmental hazards.
• Ensuring acceptable abatement methods and compliance with laws and regulations.
• Monitoring contract performance and addressing problems in emergency repairs.
• Preparing field reports, scopes of work and cost estimates for health and lead projects.
• Performing dust wipe sampling per HUD and agency protocols for clearance.
• Reviewing contractors' requisitions for payment and change orders.
• Performing hazardous materials assessment using XRF equipment and lab analysis.
• Ensuring permits are obtained before start and monitoring contractor performance.
• Performing dust wipes and XRF testing per agency guidelines.
• Data entry into HPDInfo per agency guidelines.
• Lead Inspection Risk Assessment in compliance with HUD regulations.
• Healthy Homes Inspections in compliance with HUD regulations.

Education

Four-year high school diploma or equivalent
