Job summary

City of New York is seeking a Field Tech for the Emergency Operations and Enhanced Enforcement Division to support the Emergency Repair Program. You will inspect, direct, and monitor emergency repairs, ensure compliant abatement methods, and review contractor payments while coordinating with multiple HPD divisions.

The role requires evening/weekend work, valid NY driver license, and knowledge of NYC building codes.

Qualifications

• Knowledge of NYC DEP regulations; Rules of the City of NY Title 15 Chapter 1.
• Excellent organizational skills.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.
• Understand contract specifications and construction drawings.
• Proficiency with Excel, Word, Outlook, Access.

Responsibilities

• Inspecting, directing and monitoring work related to emergency repairs or compliance.
• Ensuring abatement methods meet laws, rules and regulations.
• Monitoring contract performance; identifying problems and seeking resolutions.
• Preparing field reports, scopes of work and cost estimates for emergency repair projects.
• Reviewing contractors’ requisitions for payment and change orders.
• Ensuring permits are obtained prior to start and monitoring contractor performance.
• Performing scoping per agency guidelines and data entry into HPDInfo.
• Candidate may work evenings and weekends.
