New York City Department of Housing Preservation and Development (HPD) is seeking a Construction Project Manager in the Emergency Operations Division. Based in New York City, you will work within the Emergency Repair Program to oversee emergency repairs, assess contractor performance, and ensure compliance with all applicable codes and regulations.

Under direct supervision, you will inspect sites, prepare scopes of work and cost estimates, monitor contracts, review requisitions for payment,

Qualifications

• Five years of full-time experience managing or inspecting construction projects costing at least $300,000 each year.
• Alternative: one year of experience plus a Bachelor’s degree in a related field.
• Must have NYS driver license and be able to work evenings and weekends.

Responsabilités

• Inspect, direct, and monitor emergency repairs per plans and specs.
• Ensure abatement methods and compliance with laws and regulations.
• Monitor contract performance and resolve issues promptly.
• Prepare field reports, scopes of work and cost estimates.
• Review contractor requisitions for payment and change orders.
• Ensure permits are obtained before projects start.
• Perform scoping per agency guidelines and data entry into HPDInfo.
• Schedule field work including evenings and weekends.
